Arts Hub Feasibility Study

This study examines how a downtown Arts Hub could serve as a catalyst for creative growth, collaboration, and access. Input from residents and stakeholders will inform the final vision for the community — stay tuned!

Business Supports the Arts Awards

We’re gathering local businesses to celebrate and recognize the outstanding contributions made by individuals and organizations in supporting the arts with our signature Business Supports the Arts Awards Luncheon.

Third Space Danbury

The vision for Third-Space Danbury includes green spaces, walking communities, arts education, music hubs, and spaces for young people, aiming to enhance quality of life and foster a strong sense of community.

Creative Youth Development Program

Through after school education and activities, this Program encourages young people to tell their stories through creative expression. It’s designed to strengthen social ties and critical thinking, and enhance creative skills.

This initiative invited artists to bring their creativity to life with large outdoor murals to celebrate the rich history of the Danbury Fair. Two outdoor murals, themed “Legacy Threads,” honored Danbury Fair’s storied past.

Mural at Danbury Fair Mall

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut and Danbury Fair Mall engaged artists for a large-scale mural installation at 7 Backus Ave. The opportunity attracted artists from CT, NY, NJ, MA, and other parts of the country.

Renewal

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut partnered with Aquila’s Nest Vineyards of Newtown to present an outdoor art show that reflected a connection to community through upcycled and repurposed objects.

Danbury Sculpture

As part of the “Accessible Art” program we'd been growing, we collaborated with CityCenter Danbury to design site-specific featured artwork at 30 Crosby Street in downtown Danbury, CT.

Movable Mural Project

We teamed up with Art in Common of Ridgefield to expand the mural project at Danbury Fair Mall. Six permanent but moveable mural canvases to showcase local and aspiring artists.

We helped people grow their support network by joining a group of like-minded people with highly-focused conversations. Together, we expanded our collective understanding about race and culture in America.

School District

During the global pandemic, Stamford Public Schools opened its schools for hybrid, in-person learning. This documentary follows the superintendent, staff, administrators, teachers, and students on their educational journey.

Shards of Time

Shards of Time was created by Marc Aldrich and reflects over forty years of research, writing and drawing. Ideas in the story line and approach for this project are a product of Marc’s upbringing and education.

Chalk the Walk

We helped turn downtown Danbury into a lively canvas celebrating artistic flair. The result was a community-driven experience where the sidewalks transformed into an open-air gallery.

The Art of Plating

We partnered with Todd Maserati Alfa Romeo of Danbury to host the Art of Plating, where local restaurants and eateries were invited to become a sponsor of this premier media event. Over 200 food-loving patrons joined us.

Costen Culture Exhibit

Chantal Potter and The Costen Culture Virtual Exhibit — a collection of digitally recorded images, black history artifacts, photographs, sound files, text documents, and other data of historical, scientific, or cultural interest.

Thrown Stone Theater launched the 068 Magazine Playwriting Fellowship and named its first fellow, PhanesiaPharel. The Cultural Alliance was eager to support this new initiative.

Balloon Man, a feature documentary produced by Chantal Potter, an award winning director, producer, and writer focused on inspirational and thought provoking storytelling.

Bethel Arts, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit all volunteer community organization with a focus to build, promote, and support Bethel’s arts and creative community.

Bethel Jazz, one of the few, if not only, organized jazz programs in the region, and continues to offer world– class jazz in Bethel, CT, produced by Thomas Carruthers

Lullaby Requiem, a music composition dedicated to children lost to violence and composed by the late Eric Lewis. Eric was a founding member and first violinist of the Manhattan String Quartet for 45 years.

Newtown Cultural Arts Commission and the Healing Newtown project. 

Sherman Artists Association – we helped to guide the organization toward becomming a 501C-3 nonprofit. Their mission is to advance the education of visual artists and the public.
