The Sherman Library is pleased to announce the next art show: “The Art of Fashion” – 1990’s Illustrations by Kermit Adler (1927 – 2008).  A former Lord & Taylor Creative Director, Adler created many illustrations for the Barn Shop ads in Kent, CT.   Sherman resident Jeanne McRoberts, who owned the clothing shop, hired him to create these marvelous illustrations.  Come celebrate another era of style and glamour, meet Jeanne McRoberts and learn the story behind the illustrations on Friday February 23rd from 6 – 8pm. The show will be on display at the Sherman Library from February 23 – March 27, 2024 both at the Library and on their website, www.ShermanLibrary.org

Born in New York City, Adler graduated from the High School of Music and Arts and then Parsons School of Design and also attended Mexico’s Escuela de Bellas Artes. He began his career at Lord & Taylor and also worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and designed for NEW YORK CUE magazine. Adler was also a watercolor painter, exhibiting in one-man and group shows.
