Muse Squad Presents a New Option for Summer Camp

Muse Squad | June 14, 2023

Make it a summer to remember and write stories!

On July 3 – July 14, take a fun, 2-week journey with “Miss Brittney”  the founder of Muse Squad , for a club-based Creative Writing Summer Camp. The camp takes place Monday – Friday, for ages 8 – 11, from 1 PM – 2:30 PM, and for ages 12 – 14, from 3 PM – 4:30 PM. Kids will discuss the timeless classic, Alice in Wonderland, while gaining skills to tell their own story.

In collaboration with Village Center for the Arts , in New Milford, Connecticut, the studio provides a new twist on summer camp. Whether you dabble in poetry, song lyrics, comic books, short stories, or novels, the course will strengthen your ability and allow you to hone your craft. You’ll be able to attempt different genres. The camp provides multiple opportunities to read your work aloud. Each 90-minute session, you learn a literary lesson, generate inspiration on the blackboard, then explore your imagination, and go farther than you think you can with your writing. The camp concludes with a final reading and reception.

Brittney Richardson  says, “I started Muse Squad because creative writing classes are so important and missing from many communities.” She continues, “I would’ve loved a hobby like this when I was their age.”

Dianne Elizabeth, the Studio Assistant and Social Media Director of Village Center for the Arts, had this to say about the class: “This is a great way to give your children confidence and fortitude that will show up in other parts of their lives.”

Jayson Roberts, the Co-founder and Studio Director of Village Center for the Arts commented after the Final Reading: “The excitement of those kids was so in-line with what VCA is all about. I can’t wait for what’s next!”

There’s still some spots left! Class size is limited to 8 campers per age group. Tuition assistance and scholarships are available.
