Throw Like a Girl

My collage art is primarily a healing art. Through images, colors, shapes, and materials juxtaposed with historic black and white images, I allow people and events from the past to appear in a re-imagined present. They emerge from a silent and frozen past, marked by years of unchanging pain and separation, and dissolve into a hopeful present empowered by a timeless voice of creativity. Art allows these long-forgotten images to be renewed and healed with beauty and compassion. I believe there is always an opportunity to bind the wounds and emerge from the past no matter how old the hurt, no matter how deep the pain. The creative process allows us to transcend the limits of linear time.
