The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut will host a reception for the American Dream Foundation and its 2019 honorees on at Gallery 287 on June 6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The reception will feature the current art show, “E Pluribus: Out of Many, One,” by Muriel Stockdale.
“The gallery offers a fitting backdrop to awardees who are being recognized for their support of a growing and unified region,” said Lisa Scails, executive director of the Cultural Alliance. “We are recognizing our American traditions as celebrated in art and community,” said
Celia Bacelar, publisher of the Tribuna Newspaper and co-founder of the American Dream Awards, said: “the event is an opportunity for all of us to highlight the cultural contributions of the immigrant community and celebrate their determination in the pursuit of their American Dream.”
Honorees to be recognized include Dr. Spyros Smith, who practices internal medicine Danbury Hospital and is a well-known health advocate within the immigrant community; Peter V. Scalzo, a business pioneer and civic leader in Danbury; and Fernanda Pontes, a Brazilian actress and philanthropist.
