Ridgefield’s Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center (KTM&HC) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Directors and contribute their unique perspectives to advancing our mission.
“We are a museum that preserves, interprets, and shares our site’s history to show how the past informs the present and shapes the future,” said Mike Twomey, chair of KTM&HC’s Governance Committee. “As custodians of more than 300 years of local history, we are committed to telling the stories of all who have lived and worked on our grounds and in the surrounding communities.”
In July 2025, KTM&HC enters one of the most exciting and important periods in its history. The Museum will be central to Ridgefield’s year-long commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and then again when the town marks the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Ridgefield. What’s more, 2026 will be the 60th anniversary of its incorporation as a preservation society.
The Board seeks a diverse mix of candidates from Fairfield and Westchester counties who are passionate about history and eager to make a meaningful impact on the community. Skills in finance, fundraising, legal, marketing, education, and related business disciplines are needed, as well deep relationships within and around the Ridgefield area.
“Please join us if you want to be part of an organization that is a trusted place to help understand why history matters and to make better sense of the world around us,” Twomey said. “As a member of the KTM&HC board, you will be part of history as we celebrate these important national and local milestones; guide and support the KTM&HC staff and leadership through challenging times for non-profit organizations; join a dynamic, forward-thinking team who actively participates in projects and events that advance KTMHC’s mission and values; and help ensure a vibrant future for the museum and its role in the community.” Interested individuals should contact KTM&HC’s Executive Director Hildegard Grob at email below or 203.438.5485, ext. 11.
