Dance deserves a seat at the table in Connecticut, it deserves to be curated as much as and/or in collaboration with all other performing art forms. At this hour-long virtual meeting, our goal is to connect Connecticut based presenters (theaters, stages, art galleries, studios, arts councils, public spaces, and/or anyone that curates paid performance opportunities), with Connecticut based dance makers of all genres. We will pair presenters and dancemakers and divide into small groups via breakout rooms for a “speed dating” like connection. Different variations of breakout rooms will happen 2-3 times within the hour so presenters can meet and learn about as many dancemakers as possible. We will ensure there is a common place for everyone to write their contact information for followup meetings and connections. Let’s put dance on more Connecticut stages and spaces. Let’s connect dance artists with presenters who may have never curated dance before. Dance can happen in conjunction with visual art, theater, and especially music. Dance can happen in all spaces. We welcome you to join us with an open mind and leave with connections that will foster more art throughout the state of Connecticut.
