Japanese Woodblock Prints Exhibit, Talk and Opening Reception

March 5 - March 28

Free

The Ridgefield Library is pleased to announce a new exhibition of Japanese woodblock prints owned by Ridgefield collectors Larry George and Joel Third.  The exhibit can be seen March 5-28th in the Library’s Lower Level Gallery during regular Library hours.

After trade opened up between Japan and the West in 1854, Japanese woodblock prints began to flood the Western world and had a great influence on French and American Impressionist painters. This exhibit focuses on the mid-1800s period.

On Saturday, March 16th there will be an introductory talk with Larry George from 2:00-2:45 pm in the Main Program Room, followed by an opening reception from 2:45 pm – 4:00 pm.

Register HERE for the talk.
