THROWNSTONE NOW SEEKING SUBMISSIONS FOR “GATHERING”
When did a gathering change your life?
Gathering is a special event for storytellers. We are seeking short pieces to be performed live on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 at the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut storefront in the Danbury Fair Mall.
This year we saw the official end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as we approach the holiday season, we share the prospect of coming together for what may be the first time in a long time. For some this will mean joyous reunions; for others, the very idea of gathering may be fraught with anxiety and dread. This is an opportunity to reflect on past gatherings and to tell stories that will sustain us in the weeks ahead, whether joyous, dreadful, or a big helping of both. That’s where you come in.
Submissions are open to everyone and due by midnight, October 15. The theme is The Gathering that Changed Your Life. This could be any kind of gathering — any event, holiday, chance meeting, or other kind of get-together — when you left a different person than when you arrived. Tell us all about it.
Ready to share your gathering story? Please submit the form, and someone will be in touch.
