Join us for summer-evening readings by award-winning poets in the walled gardens of Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center!
The “A Garden of Verse” series returns for its third season, including a reading by poets Nicole Callihan and Iain Haley Pollack on July 24.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket; picnic dinners are welcome! In the event of rain or a heat emergency, readings move inside the historic Garden House.
There is ample parking on site and the facility is fully accessible.
The 2023 season of “A Garden of Verse” is generously cosponsored by the Manhattanville College MFA in Writing, a flexible, cross-genre program that prepares students for today’s creative opportunities, from traditional publishing and editing careers to freelance writing and teaching.
“A Garden of Verse” is directed and hosted by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes.

Nicole Callihan’s most recent book This Strange Garment navigates her 2020 breast cancer diagnosis and resulting treatments. Her other books include SuperLoop and the poetry chapbooks The Deeply Flawed Human, Downtown, and ELSEWHERE (with Zoë Ryder White), as well as a novella, The Couples. Iain Haley Pollock is the author of Ghost, Like a Place, which was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2018, and Spit Back a Boy, winner of the 2010 Cave Canem Poetry Prize. Pollock serves on the editorial board at Slapering Hol Press as well as the board of Tiger Bark Press. He directs the MFA Program In Writing at Manhattanville College, where he edits the literary journal Inkwell. https://www.iainhaleypollock.com/
