“A Garden of Verse” Reading: poets Jennifer Franklin & Sean Singer

Join us for summer-evening readings by award-winning poets in the walled gardens of Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center!
The “A Garden of Verse” series returns for its third season, including a reading by Jennifer Franklin & Sean Singer on July 10.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket; picnic dinners are welcome! In the event of rain or a heat emergency, readings move inside the historic Garden House.
There is ample parking on site and the facility is fully accessible.
The 2023 season of “A Garden of Verse” is generously cosponsored by the Manhattanville College MFA in Writing, a flexible, cross-genre program that prepares students for today’s creative opportunities, from traditional publishing and editing careers to freelance writing and teaching.
“A Garden of Verse” is directed and hosted by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes.

Jennifer Franklin has published three full-length collections, most recently If Some God Shakes Your House, poems in which her own experience arrives in the voice of Antigone. A recipient of a NYFA/City Corps Grant in Poetry and a Café Royal Cultural Foundation Grant in Literature, she holds an MFA from Columbia, teaches in Manhattanville’s MFA program, and serves as Program Director for the Hudson Valley Writers Center. https://www.jenniferfranklinpoet.com/
Sean Singer is the author of Discography, winner of the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, selected by W.S. Merwin, and the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America; Honey & Smoke; and Today in the Taxi, which won the 2022 National Jewish Book Award. Singer holds an MFA from Washington University and a Ph.D. in American Studies. He runs a manuscript consultation service and hosts poetry seminars. https://www.seansingerpoetry.com/
