Specializing in the captivating style of Huapango. The term “Huapango” originates from the Nahuatl word “cuaupanco,” signifying “atop wood,” referencing the wooden platform where the mesmerizing zapateado dance is performed to enhance its percussive sound. Huapango has its roots in 17th Century mestizo culture in Mexico, emerging from the confluence of Spanish, African, and Creole musical elements with the Huasteca region, often referred to as “son huasteco.” Huapango encompasses various styles across Mexico, including arribeño, norteño, huasteco, and huapango de mariachi.
