Brookfield Craft Center is pleased to present its latest gallery exhibition Views from a Matrix. Running through June 2 and sponsored by Collins Hannafin PLC, Views from a Matrix features various styles of printmaking from eight Connecticut printmakers.
The eight artists in this exhibition, even when they practice the same form of printmaking all approach the creation of a matrix very differently, and some matrices are used once while others are used multiple times.
The artists featured in the exhibition are Kathleen DeMeo, Liz Dexheimer, Adair Wilson Heitmann, Bonnie Johnson, Gali Katz, Karin Mansberg, Susan Rood, and Ellen Schiffman, and the printmaking techniques they employ are clay monotype, wood relief, etching, chine collé, linocut relief, collage, silk aquatint intaglio, collagraph monoprint, high viscosity monotype, and multi-layered monotype.
You can visit the exhibition in Brookfield Craft Center’s Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery. Hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 PM, Saturday 11AM-4PM, and Sunday 12-4PM. All are invited to a reception where you can meet the artists on Saturday, May 18 from 5-8PM immediately following our open house which runs from 12-5.
