Dynamic Nonviolence Training in the Six Principles of Nonviolence
The Connecticut Center for Nonviolence (CTCN) is seeking twelve (12) Teaching Artists
(especially Black, Indigenous and People of Color) to participate in a specialized Kingian Nonviolence Training Series, co-sponsored by the CT Office of the Arts and geared toward Artists, interested in teaching in schools and other settings throughout their communities.

Overview of Certification Training Sessions:
- 10 Two-Hour, Thursday evening and some Saturday morning zoom sessions with off line assignments beginning April 8 and ending May 15, 2021
- Practice and application of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Six Principles of Nonviolence
- Exploration of the Civil Rights campaigns and its relationship to contemporary issues
- Development of engaging lesson plans through an arts discipline to illuminate The Six Principles of Nonviolence and supports Social Justice work in our state and, country
- Mentoring from some of Connecticut’s most accomplished Teaching Artists
- An honorarium for each Artist completing the certification process
NOTE:
- There is limited space for the training, we are seeking twelve (12 no more than 14) Teaching Artists for this unique opportunity.
- There is no fee for this certification training, but each participant must complete the requirements in order to become a certified Kingian Nonviolence Teaching Artist with the CT Center for Nonviolence.
