This workshop/panel and open discussion will be a kind of School Residency Etiquette 101+, focusing on time management, class planning, understanding the institutional rules and culture, punctuality, dress code, language, cultural norms, managing expectations, collaborating with and empowering/engaging/exciting teachers through your work with their students – while maintaining the integrity of your work. Get perspectives from experienced teaching artists, school and arts organization leaders, and performers about what makes for a successful school residency or presentation, and what kind of traits, curricula, behaviors, and outcomes are likely to get you hired back – or not.
