Welcome to our new Board of Directors!

With the new fiscal year underway, we are thrilled to welcome five new board members; Emily Anne Carney, Writer; Dennis Daugherty, Chairman of the Western Connecticut Chapter of SCORE; Joe Keneally, Technical Director, Sherman Chamber Ensemble; Vicki Taylor-Bloch, Interior Designer; and Paula Woodhouse, Head of Business Banking at Union Savings Bank. Each individual has a passion for the arts and community, and brings valuable experience and expertise to the organization. 

Emily Anne Carney 

Emily is a professional writer and adjunct professor at Western Connecticut State University. She assists with grants, fundraising and community outreach. Emily was also been selected as a writer for the inaugural Endworks Project, a collaboration between the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury and the Cultural Alliance. Emily brings creative-thinking and determination to our board. She has the honorable standing of being our youngest board member! 

Dennis Daugherty

Dennis is committed to the growth and development of the greater Danbury area through his volunteer activities. For the last six years, he has been Chairman of the Western Connecticut Chapter of SCORE.

SCORE is a national service organization with over 10,000 volunteers and 300 chapters. SCORE provides free and confidential mentoring to people starting or growing a business. In addition, SCORE works with partners to present workshops on a wide variety of business topics.

In addition to sitting on the Board of Directors of the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, he sits on the Legislative Council of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce. Dennis and his wife Chris Louth have lived on the west side of Danbury for 32 years. 

Joseph Keneally 

Joseph has been a member and Chair of the Sherman Democratic Town Committee and the Sherman Conservation Commission, Technical Director of Sherman Chamber Ensemble, Member and Chair of the Sherman Democratic Town Committee, Member and President of the Sherman Library Board of Trustees, and a member of the Sherman Board of Education. Joseph brings extensive and valuable non-profit experience to our board!  

Vicki Taylor-Bloch

Vicki spent the first half of her career as an accomplished menswear designer and executive. Working for highly respected companies like Liz Claiborne and Donna Karan she travelled extensively throughout the world visiting textile and manufacturing facilities. It was there she saw firsthand the poverty, hardships and inequality women were dealing with daily. This experience influenced the second half of Vicki’s career and role as a community activist.  

Vicki brings over 17 years as a supporter and community activist of local non-profit organizations. In addition to the Cultural Alliance, she is a long-time board member for Friends of Ball Pond, New Fairfield, CT, Board member of  the Women’s Center of Danbury, and former board member and president for Interfaith Aids Ministry in Danbury. Vicki lives in New Fairfield around beautiful Ball Pond with her son Andrew. 

Paula Woodhouse

Paula is the Head of Business Banking at Union Savings Bank. She has over 30 years of experience in small business and commercial lending. Paula specializes in providing small businesses with an array of products including working capital lines of credit, term loans for equipment and vehicle purchases, owner occupied real estate financing and investment real estate financing. Paula’s extensive experience in business lending and banking is a major plus for any non-profit!
