Antonia Schachter | September 12, 2019

This fall the Ridgefield Library presents The Illustrative World of Maurice Sendak: Let the Wild Rumpus Begin! The series will include lectures, a field trip, film screenings, a panel discussion, book discussions and more to celebrate Maurice Sendak’s artistic and literary legacy.

Maurice Sendak (1928–2012) is considered to be one of the most important book artists of the 20th century. He not only wrote and illustrated award-winning children’s books that brought fantasy to life in the reader’s imagination, he also produced operas and ballets for both stage and television. Ridgefield was Maurice Sendak’s home for forty years.
