The Ridgefield Arts Council Celebrates Make Music Day with Make Music Ridgefield

Ridgefield, CT — Make Music Ridgefield is joining over 1000 cities worldwide in a global celebration of music inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique on Monday, June 21, 2021. There will also be limited pre-festival events held on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Ridgefield is open to anyone — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion. Performers can register on the website at   www.makemusicday.org/ridgefield. All Make Music Ridgefield day events are free and open to the public.

“We are thrilled to bring this event back for the 3rd year to celebrate the safe re-opening of so many of our arts and cultural destinations “,  says Jennifer DiLaura, Chair of the Ridgefield Arts Council. Ridgefield Town Hall, Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Lounsbury House, Ballard Park, the West Lane Inn, RPAC Gallery, the Graham Dickinson Spirit Skate Park, First Congregational Church, The Toy Chest and Benchmark at Ridgefield Crossings are just some of the venues that will host various musical performances.

This year, Make Music Day will be the kick-off to a “Summer of Song” in Ridgefield – keep your eye out for the many musical and musically inspired art events happening around town – from the CHIRP concerts in Ballard Park, the numerous events at The Ridgefield Playhouse, the music during Ridgefield Guild of Artist’s Art Walk, The Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center’s “Music at the Museum” in collaboration with the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra,  and the restaurants with musical entertainment filling the streets, Ridgefield is the place to be all summer long.
