OVERVIEW
The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is a leader in supporting a vibrant arts and culture community in Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties. The Cultural Alliance offers various programs and services throughout the year. We offer a regional calendar of arts and culture events; distribute related news, provide resources and opportunities. In addition, we provide support to artists and organizations that provide arts and culture direct services. The Cultural Alliance facilitate and co-sponsor collective impact and community-based projects, utilizing the arts to raise awareness and engage community.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Communications Assistant supports the Cultural Alliance and its communications strategies for the organization. You’ll learn how communications strategy, great storytelling, and data are combined to help achieve the Cultural Alliance’s objectives. Benefits of working with us include gaining professional work experience by executing meaningful business pro-jects, great exposure, and networking. Working directly with the Executive Director with decades of experience. This position is remote, and we are looking for people who share our passion. Also perfect for volunteers with an interest in communications and marketing.
You will help with:
Create, write, edit content.
Support marketing and external communications initiatives, including social media campaigns.
Variety of other tasks as needed.
We’re really excited if you have/are:
- An excellent communicator and a strong writer
- Familiar with technology and digital platforms
- Well organized, detail oriented, adaptable, and flexible
- A team player
- Ability to juggle
- Pursuing a degree (or career) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or Advertising
- Proficiency in the use of software on PC platforms, Word; knowledge of Canva, a plus
