Sponsorship and Regranting Support

Artists and arts and cultural organizations often need a 501C-3 nonprofit parent organization to help with funding, to build infrastructure and capacity for their group. The Cultural Alliance provides these services. The process is selective but we are happy to help and provide the support when needed as a meaningful partnership with CA to help fund projects. MOSAIC RHYTHMS OF DANBURY GRANT PROJECT

CA received a planning grant of $10,000 through DECD CT Office of the Arts and regranted to the Danbury Cultural Commission for a mural project in Danbury. A steering committee composed of many Danbury professionals went through a process to choose the design under the direction of Joanne and Bruce Hunter. This project was steered by the Danbury Cultural Commission.

HEALING NEWTOWN THROUGH THE ARTS PROJECT

CA collected and over 130K in private contributions on behalf of the Town of Newtown. Immediately following the Sandy Hook tragedy, Newtown was flooded with artistic contributions nationwide, including material donations, services for programs and workshops, and fundraising efforts for the arts. Newtown Cultural Arts Commission is responsible for managing arts related activities for the town of Newtown. Considering the scope and size of contributions and the limited capacity to manage the response during the crisis, the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut assisted with infrastructure, facilitation, and coordination and immediately worked to convene an Arts Action Team: Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, and the Connecticut Office of the Arts. No fees applied for this project.
