For sixteen years—until 2014—New Milford hosted an outdoor Arts Festival, which drew over

100 participating artists. The New Milford Commission on the Arts is reviving the New Milford

Arts Festival in the summer of 2023, to offer area artists a high-profile opportunity to display

and sell their work. We plan an all-day event—from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—on Saturday, July

29, rain or shine, on New Milford’s Green. The event will feature artists, artisans, arts

organizations, and performances by local dance, music, and dramatic groups. Artists will

supply their own tables, tents, and display equipment. Display spaces measure approximately

10’ X 10’. Artists must have a Connecticut sales tax number. To apply for a Connecticut sales

Because the Festival will be supported by a Town grant, we offer participation for the low,

nonrefundable registration fee of $25. The registration deadline is April 15, and we have

space for up to 100 participants. We recommend that you apply early to guarantee a space on

Increasingly, the New Milford Green has become a venue for festivals and cultural events. For

years the Commission has hosted concerts on August Saturday evenings. Recently, the Town

has sponsored “Rock the Block” music events. The blocks adjacent to the Green contain a

variety of shops and restaurants as well as Gallery 25, a local art gallery. New Milford is a

busy place in the summer. The Arts Festival will enhance an already active cultural scene in

New Milford.
