Rich Wagner

Rich Wagner grew up with art and his mother was a professional artist and his father an amateur artist. Thus, his initial artistic training was in their atelier. Following 250 credit hours of formal study, Rich was elected a member of the Art Students League. He also studied art history, most recently at the Courtauld Institute.

Examples of his work are included in private collections and in the Law Library at Pace University. He often participates in exhibitions and his works have also been shown at Gallery Northeast.

Born in Manhattan, Rich has lived in England and in upstate New York.

Submitted here is a blanche sur noire drawing of a man in contemplation. This white on black technique enhances the picture giving it an other-worldly effect. In addition, the eye searches for light and fills in detail beyond the marks on the paper.
