Artists who live or work in Western Connecticut, Putnam, Rochester, and Westchester counties in NY were strongly encouraged to apply. The opportunity attracted artists from CT, NY, NJ, MA, and other parts of the country. From the competitive applications received, three qualified finalists from CT, MA, and CA were invited to submit a proposal and design concept. After final review, Matthew Dean, Artist and Illustrator was selected to install the Danbury Fair Mural.

Congratulations Kiptoe!

Matt Dean aka “Kiptoe” Mural Artist & Illustrator. Kiptoe stands out as a multi-talented creator who continues to make his work come to life through stories and animations that he injects into his large-scale paintings and videos. He has a BFA in Illustration and has been a professional mural artist for 7 years. He started in his home state of New Hampshire, before taking off for LA and hustling to get his work on buildings across the city. He had lofty goals and high ambitions, so overtime, his work has attracted the attention of several big-name clients, including Walt Disney World, TNT, Fortnite, Express Men, WarFrame, Carrera Sunglasses, and more.

A collaboration with Art in Common to expand the mural project.

We teamed with Art in Common of Ridgefield to expand on the mural project at Danbury Fair Mall. Six permanent but moveable mural canvases to showcase local and aspiring artists. The canvases are constructed to easily move and enhance the large mural installation in the Apple wing. The focus of the movable murals is social sustainability and community building.
