The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is getting information from federal, state, and regional networks to help us keep abreast of this fast-moving situation. According to the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, the links below will be updated dynamically as the situation evolves:
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is posting its latest updated information [cdc.gov] on an ongoing basis and recommends connecting to your state, territorial [cdc.gov] and local [naccho.org] health agencies for location-specific guidance.
- ArtsReady [artsready.org] and NCAPER [ncaper.org] (National Coalition for Arts Preparedness and Emergency Response) are regularly updating their sites with arts-specific resources and advice.
In addition, the links below may be useful guidance on planning arts events or managing facilities.
- The CDC recently issued guidance on how to Get Your Mass Gatherings or Large Community Events Ready for Coronavirus Disease [cdc.gov].
- ArtsReady has circulated practical examples of measures being implemented by cultural organizations, including this March 6 New York Times article [nytimes.com] and this February 26 ArtsReady Alert [mailchi.mp].
- COVID-19/Coronavirus Resources & Information for the Museum Field [aam-us.org], from the American Alliance of Museums, contains advice applicable to museums and other cultural venues.
- Two webinars—Theatre Communications Group’s Coronavirus Preparedness Webinar [vimeo.com] and the Event Safety Alliance’s Prepare Your Organization for the Coronavirus Disease Outbreak [eventsafetyalliance.
webinarninja.com] —may be of particular interest to performing arts groups. - The League of American Orchestras coronavirus resources page [americanorchestras.org] includes examples of sample audience communications as well as other readiness recommendations.
- Americans for the Arts offer basic individual prevention measures [blog.americansforthearts.org] to share with attendees, program participants, and employees.
Finally, we are working to gather questions and share resources from arts and culture organizations in an effort to help prepare and respond to this outbreak locally.
