American Subtitles: New Exhibit at WCSU Gallery

DANBURY — Western Connecticut State University presents the fall semester 2019 exhibit at the WCSU Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Ext.bition, “American Subtitles” from Monday, August 26, to Sunday, October 6.

An opening reception for the artists will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 29, in the gallery.

The exhibition will feature work in a wide range of media by Connecticut artists Andres Chaparro and Robert Charles Hudson.

The paintings, sculptures, collages and mixed-media pieces offer varied interpretations of the American experience of people of color, providing fresh perspectives on social issues while exploring the individuals’ contributions to humanity and embracing visions of both unity and diversity.

Admission to the reception and exhibition is free. The public is invited.
